Thousands gathered today at Gare du Nord in Brussels, Flanders Belgium, to attend the march which was organized by Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E), Kurdish Democratic Congress in Europe (KCDK-E) and Peoples' Democratic Congress Europe Branch (HDK-A).
The Flemish pro independence party NV-A (New Flemish Alliance), winner of the last elections in Belgium, has sent a high level delegation. Their MEP, Marc Hendrickx has been very clear: "Neither can there be democracy where the opposition is persecuted. There can be no democracy where there is no press freedom." In fact a constant demonstration claim was to denounce Turkey as a fascist dictatorship.
The protesters carried posters of prisoners as the HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas, Figen Yüksekdağ and other members, protesters are singing slogans protesting the AKP and Turkish President Erdogan. The march ended in front of the Council of Europe.
